A picture wedding invitation does not necessarily have to be a wedding invitation with a picture of you and your fiancé. The picture can be of many different things. The picture could be of the place you plan on getting married, or even the place that the proposal took place. There may even be an item that is very symbolic to the both of you.

If you plan on creating do it yourself picture wedding invitations, then there are a few things that you will want to keep in mind. The first being that whatever image you use need to be of high quality. For printing purposes, you will want to make sure that you image is at least 300 dpi. You can check this information by right clicking on the image and looking at the information, or editing the image in a photo editor like
Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 -. You will also want to make sure not to enlarge you image. If you do this, this will result in lowering the quality of your picture. There is only so much information in a photograph. When you try to enlarge it, you are only really stretching it, like a rubber band, it only becomes thinner. This is why you want to start with a large 300 dpi image. The lowest quality you want to use is 150 dpi. You should also keep this in mind if you plan on cropping your image. If you make sure to get an original image this should help a lot.

You could decide to add hand created element and photographic elements and integrate them together. This can add a very different style to your picture wedding invite. You could even effect the image so that it is all one color, or you could change the threshold setting to make it all black and white and more solid. You may have a more vector, hard edged item blend in with a photograph. A beautiful watercolor sky could blend in with the sky of your picture and give you wedding invitation an added artistic feel. The will also serve to lessen the harshness that an invitation could have with a solid photographic background.

Whatever picture wedding invitations you decide to buy or create, remember to always go with something that is meaningful to you and your future husband or wife.

If you would like some better software to help you design your wedding invitations I highly recommend Adobe products. I use Adobe for all of the designing that I do. They create top of the line software for professional designers all over the world.. The only disadvantage to the casual user is that they can be expensive. Fortunately, they do have a great program for the casual user called
Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 -, which is affordable and easier to use than their professional software. This will definitely help you with any sort of photos that you would like to put into your wedding invitations.

The History of the Monogram

The monogram began its existence as a royal signature. The Greeks and Romans used them on coins for the identification of the rulers. During the Middle ages crafters used them to mark their work. During the Victorian period people used them as a status symbol.

Why Monogrammed Wedding Invitation Make Great Themes

Monograms are a truly wonderful way to symbolize a marriage. They can be elegant and simple. A monogram is essentially like making a logo for the couple that are getting married. It is their “mark”. It also works very well symbolically because it shows the merging of two people.

The great thing about having one of these made is that they can be used over and over even after the wedding. If one chooses to have thank you cards made with just the monogram on the from then extras can be used later for other occasions. You will always have a nice supply of thank you cards and will remind people of your wedding.

A monogram can be used on many things once it has been created. It is important to keep consistency with your monogram once you have it created. Make sure to use the same fonts on everything you have created. You don’t want more than one version or two at the most of your monogram. When having two different versions, each version should be different so that you can use them in different instances. When everything matches it will look more coherent and professional. Doing this costs no extra money; it is just about paying attention to it.

The Rules of Using the Monogram on Wedding Invitations

In the past monograms had simple rules. It was common for the first and middle initials to be on the edges, with the last name initial being in the middle and larger. The three initial monogram is a tradition Victorian style. The female monogram had the varying sizes, but a male monogram would have the sizes of the initials consistent and would keep the order first, middle last. Now the common standard for the couples monogram is to put the bride’s first initial on the left and the groom’s first initial on the far right with the new last name being in the middle and a bit larger.

What to Look for with Monograms for Wedding Invitations

Monograms should typically be balanced. This can be difficult to achieve depending on how you want the monogram to be created. Sometimes a monogram is created using the couple’s names with the name initial being in the center. This can work well, but if one of the names is a lot longer than the other, this can be a problem. The shape of the letters can also be problematic if they do not balance well. This is also a good time to really look at the spaces between the letters to make sure there is not a giant gap between some of the letters. This is important because typically a monogram is used on many things once it is perfected. It is best to do many different versions of monograms before making a selection so that the best balance can be achieved.

Something to keep in mind about monograms is that the entire theme of the wedding does not have to revolve around it. It can be apart of the wedding theme. In fact, it seems best if it is just one part, but an entire them developed around just the monogram can be done successfully.

Other Things Monograms Can Be Used For

Monograms can be put on just about everything at your wedding. You can have monogram stickers created for favors, you can put them on the invitations and the thank you cards. You can even put them on your wedding cake. I have even known a woman who had an ice sculpture out of her monogram!

Whenever you are trying to decide what your wedding invitations are going to look like, and you would like them to be very personalized, having photo wedding invitations is a really great way to achieve this. The first thing that you will need to do whenever you’re considering going this route is to have some professional photographs of the two of you taken. You may even decide that you want to re-create a special moment between you and your husband to be. Whatever you do, do not take your pictures with your wedding dress on.

You may be already going through the expense of having engagement photos taken, you may as well put them to good use, and also give all of your guests photos of you by using them in your invitation. If you are having them professionally designed all you should need to do it get a digital copy from you photographer and get that to your designer. Before having your pictures taken, it is a good idea to ask the photographer if this is possible. Some photographers may not want their clients to have digital copes. It is important to have the photos taken well in advance to allow plenty of time for your photographer to take and process your photos, followed by your designer designing the invitation and of course you want to make sure your guests have plenty of notice in advance so that they can clear their schedules and be sure to be at your wedding!

An invitation can have a theme that intertwines with the photograph wedding invitations, which can be very beautiful if done well. This is probably one of the higher levels of customization, you defiantly won’t find anyone else out there that has your invitation.

If you would like some better software to help you design your wedding invitations I highly recommend Adobe products. I use Adobe for all of the designing that I do. They create top of the line software for professional designers all over the world.. The only disadvantage to the casual user is that they can be expensive.
